Work-Life Curriculum
The Sessions
The first module, as part of a planned series of three, consists of six topics:
- Balance of Life
- Is ambition sinful?
- Is there always a right answer?
- Stewardship: Service as Success
- Demystifying the “Call”
- Justice or Mercy?
It has been said that the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Yet, at times, developing an intimate relationship with God tends to fall to the bottom of our to-do lists. So how do we find balance in life amidst all of our responsibilities?
It isn’t ambition God assesses, but who is served by ambition.
Is there such a situation that isn’t covered by absolute right?
Do we think of ourselves as an owner, instead of a steward, of God’s resources?
How do we know what God wants us to do as our calling? Are there jobs that we, as Christians, should never hold?
How does our faith play in with the decisions we make at work? Do we find it difficult at times to address the wrongdoing of co-workers because of the “turn the other cheek” philosophy? When is it appropriate to apply justice or mercy?
