Credentials
The School of Education's Teacher Preparation Program enables you to earn a preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential to teach in elementary school or a preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential to teach in junior high or high school.
Biola is one of the few universities that allow you to couple teacher preparation courses with your undergraduate major in order to earn a credential by the end of your senior year. You also have the option of completing just a portion of the Teacher Preparation Program as an undergraduate and then transitioning seamlessly to finish up the program after you've graduated.
As you train to become a successful educator, you will receive personalized, professional guidance from the School of Education's experienced faculty and staff members. Low student-to-faculty ratios ensure that you can get the individual attention you need. Meanwhile, Biola's strong partnerships with public and private schools across Southern California will give you valuable real-world experience working with diverse populations and skilled master teachers.
Through it all, Biola's Teacher Preparation Program consistently emphasizes the integration of Christian faith and learning. Our graduates are in great demand because of their high ethical standards, their thorough preparation and their obvious commitment to student growth and development.
