John Miller

Jon Miller, Director of Research and Development for El Pollo Loco, has good taste.

After all, it's his job to create new food offerings and to enhance the established dishes for the popular food chain.

"The Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership at Biola University has provided a solid underpinning to my leadership and organizational effectiveness. I consider every success in context of my personal and professional growth gained from the MOL program," Jon said.

Jon oversees research and product development based on individual tastes in the geographical regions El Pollo Loco services. New market strategy is key as new dishes are created and tested. "At El Pollo Loco, we strive to service our customers," he explains. "A good portion of my time is spent analyzing the menu mix in our core markets to make sure we fully understand consumer preferences," he explains. The successful Pollo Bowl Salads, created by Jon, account for one third of Pollo Bowl sales.

The MOL at Biola University was also developed as a result of corporate research. Statistics show that today's leaders need to know more than the traditional techniques of running a company. The MOL provides a complete vision of what it takes to lead people, and in turn lead a staff, a department and a company.

"Meeting a company's bottom line is more than crunching numbers. I learned how to manage and lead people."

"Meeting a company's bottom line is more than crunching numbers. I learned how to manage and lead people," Jon explained. "The professors advanced my understanding of overall leadership, communication and organizational dynamics.

The MOL is a complete package. It incorporates leading people with the bottom line, and proves that developing self and employees are the most valuable components of any organization.

"Biola and has done an excellent job combining the best faculty and curriculum for managers who want to advance."
