Faculty members in the Torrey Honors Institute are called tutors. They don't
use the title of professor in order to make clear that their principal role
is to guide student learning, not to lecture. Though they are specialists in
a variety of fields, Torrey tutors participate in all aspects of the curriculum.
In so doing they model the multidisciplinary nature of the program. Most of
our faculty are housed in Sutherland Hall (Suth).
