Shawna Stewart, Conductor
 Varying
from 6-12 singers, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble formed in the fall of
1997, is committed to quality musicianship expressed in the jazz
standards and new, cutting-edge repertoire. Influencing vocal groups
are Manhattan Transfer, New York Voices, The Real Group, and The
Bobs. Members are required three to four hours of rehearsal per
week, and move quickly in building their repertoire for performance.
Concert opportunities are found on campus in chapels, the coffee
house, Chorale concerts, basketball games, and other special events.
Off campus, the Vocal Jazz members can also expect to participate
in jazz workshops, and learn from clinics brought to campus at various
times throughout the year.
