The ribbon cutting for a new Music in Worship facility took place
October 26, 2004. The newly refurbished facility, which once housed
University Facility Services, includes two ensemble rehearsal/recording
spaces and seven teaching and practice studios. The Conservatory
is grateful for the support of the Yamaha Corporation, which made
it possible to equip the facility with state-of-the-art keyboards,
recording and sound reinforcement equipment, amplifiers and instruments.
Shure Incorporated generously donated microphones. The building
provides students with a place to rehearse in both acoustic and
amplified environments. Lessons in guitar, bass, and keyboard are
also offered in the new facility. Enrollment expectations
for the initial class were met and the facility should be able
to accommodate projected program enrollment through the near future.
