The Conservatory is pleased to announce that, beginning in October of 2007, the Conservatory will host a new piano recital series featuring internationally acclaimed American artists. The series will be sponsored by the Adams Foundation. The Conservatory has had a longstanding tradition of bringing to campus outstanding pianists to both perform and teach. World renowned pianist Menahem Pressler has been inspiring Biola faculty and students for more than twenty years. In addition, great artists such as Nelita True and Bela Siki have contributed to the Conservatory’s rich pianistic history. The continuation of that tradition has now been insured through the newly formed relationship with the Adams Foundation.
The Adams Foundation brings pianists of international caliber to perform in intimate chamber settings around the country. Visiting artists will also be featured in master classes, when possible, providing students with the opportunity to benefit from their teaching as well as their performance. The series will begin with the presentation of an annual concert with the option of eventually expanding to two concerts per year. Ann Schein will present the inaugural Adams Foundation Series recital on Saturday, November 10th. It is our hope that the Adams Piano Series will become an annual event that will not only enhance the cultural life of our campus, but also the broader community. |
