Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ($15.00)
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) helps identify personality preferences
related to how you focus your attention, acquire information, make decisions,
and orient yourself toward the world. Knowing your personality preferences can
help in understanding your unique strengths, what kind of work you might enjoy
and how people with different preferences relate to one another.
This assessment generally takes about 20-30 minutes, and can be an invaluable
tool in understanding yourself and your unique design. After taking the MBTI,
you will meet with a Career Counselor to go over your results, as well as receive
a written report to keep.
Strong Interest Inventory ($15.00)
The Strong Interest Inventory (SII) assists in identifying your patterns of
interest and then compares your interests to those of successful people in a
variety of occupations. The results are based on interests only, not on aptitude
or ability, and can be helpful in clarifying the areas of your greatest passion.
This inventory may suggest occupations that you might find interesting, but
have not considered yet.
The SII is taken on computer and can generally be completed within 30 minutes.
You will then have opportunity to meet with a Career Counselor to discuss the
results, as well as receive a written report.
Strength Finder (Assessment Only - $15.00; StrengthsQuest Book and Assessment
- $ 35.00)
Understanding yourself is an important part of succeeding in college, career
or any area of interest. Developed by the Gallup Organization, StrengthsFinder
is a web-based assessment that enables you to discover your top five strengths,
that is, the natural talents through which you can fulfill your personal potential.
Once you complete the assessment, you will have opportunity to discuss with
a career counselor how your strengths relate to your academic and professional
career goals, and where you can gain further information to continue learning
about your strengths. A StrengthsQuest book is available for more detailed information
on strengths and how they can help you be successful.
SkillScan Skills Inventory (Free)
The SkillScan is a hands-on assessment that helps you identify the abilities
in which you have the greatest competency, and at the same time, most enjoy
doing. The information you gather will assist you in determining which skills
you want to emphasize in your work and those you may want to minimize or eliminate,
resulting in more satisfying work.
This assessment is taken in conjunction with a career counseling appointment
of approximately 45 minutes. The results can assist you in clarifying your skills,
in preparing a resume or for articulating your strengths and abilities during
an interview.
Kerwin Values Survey ($10.00)
Values are considered to be one of the most important factors in finding satisfying
work. The KVS is designed to help you identify those attributes of work that
will most satisfy you and motivate you in your career. The KVS sorts these values
into five different categories, helping you clarify why you want to work, how
you do your work, the people that you prefer to work with, what you want to
get back from your work, and in what type of environment you would like to work.
This assessment is taken in conjunction with a career counseling appointment
of approximately 45 minutes. You will receive a workbook and summary of results.
Career Values Card Sort (Free)
This assessment is a hands-on tool which assists you in defining factors that
affect your career satisfaction. It can help you identify what is most important
to you, what you want in a career or work environment, as well as areas of value
conflict, which may affect career choices. The information gathered will assist
you with your career decisions and job search, as well as in the interview process.
The Career Values Card Sort is taken in conjunction with a career counseling
appointment of approximately 45 minutes, where you will take and discuss the
assessment and receive written results.
