The Department of Nursing of Biola University invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position.
Skills/Simulation Lab Coordinator and Student Advisor
Full-time: 10.5 month contract, open until filled
Qualifications: Christian with Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required. Must be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in California. Must have a minimum of one year fulltime equivalent acute care patient care experience within the last three years, medical-surgical/critical care experience preferred. Effective clinical and simulation teaching experience preferred. Must have desire to work in an environment which integrates Christian faith and nursing and engages in personalized interactions with students. Biola University nursing alum beneficial. American Heart Association CPR for Health Care Instructor to be met if hired.
Responsibilities: 1.) Coordinate daily function of the skills/simulation learning lab, implementing curricular student learning activities which promote students’ ability to achieve the mission, purposes and program objectives/learning outcomes; and 2.) promote student academic progression into and through the nursing major by providing primary academic advisement for potential and pre-nursing students and serving as advisement consultant to faculty.
Compensation: Salary and rank based upon education and experience. Standard benefits. Position open until filled.
The mission of the Department of Nursing is to prepare students to be competent nursing professionals who integrate Christian caring into their nursing practice. The future of the department includes relocation to a new campus science building and the development of a Christian graduate nursing program.
