Directory Information
Certain information designated as "Directory Information" may be disclosed without the consent or knowledge of the student unless the student has requested to have their information listed as confidential (or privacy). "Directory Information" has been defined at Biola University as:
- Photo
- Name
- Address
- Telephone listing
- E-mail address
- Date and place of birth
- Major field of student
- Student Status (e.g. full-time, part-time, less than part-time)
- Participation in officially recognized activities and sports
- Weight and height of members of athletic teams
- Dates of attendance
- Degrees and awards received
- The most recent previous educational agency or institution attended.
It should be noted that sex and ethnicity are not to be included in directory information nor are lists provided to third parties that are based on sex or ethnic categories. Students who want their information to be listed as confidential (or privacy) must notify the Office of the Registrar in writing. Student information listed as confidential may not be released to any party outside of normal Biola University business use.
