Principles of the Final Exam Schedule
All undergraduate classes of two or more units are scheduled for TWO-HOUR final exams. If the professor does not desire a final exam, the final exam scheduled time above will be used for a regular class meeting.
- One-unit courses require a one hour exam. One-unit courses should follow the schedule above but only meet for the FIRST HOUR of the two hour final exam period.
Undergraduate courses of more than one unit that meet only one day per week will meet on their regularly scheduled class day at the time noted above.
- For example: A W 03:00-05:50 class will take their final on Wednesday from 03:00-05:00 (not Monday as noted above).
As a general rule for determining the times of your final exams, use the beginning day and time of your class to match with the beginning times of the schedule above.
- For example, a TR 12:00-01:15pm class will take their final on Thursday from 10:30-12:30 as noted above.
- Courses that meet four days per week (MTRF) or five days per week (MTWRF) need to follow the MW schedule above for their exam schedule.
- Evening courses (beginning at 5 p.m. and later) will take their final exam from 7-9 pm on the day of their regularly scheduled evening class.
Labs, discussion sections, and First Year Seminar courses will not be scheduled for exams, and should not meet for class sessions during finals week.
Graduate courses do not follow the final exam schedule but instead meet at their regularly scheduled time. Any final exams given will occur during the regular class periods. Undergraduate students in a cross-listed section should contact their professor for final exam arrangements.
The Art, Kinesiology and Music departments will apply this schedule to the courses taught in their own facilities, which they schedule on their own.

Students with more than three exams in one day or who have an exam conflict may appeal to the vice provost's office to have a fourth exam rescheduled. Appeal forms are available in the vice provost's office in the president's wing in Metzger upper level west. The appeal must be submitted by November 27th, 2009.
The Fall 2009 Final Exam Schedule noted above is subject to minor changes to accommodate class schedule changes that may occur at the beginning of the semester.
