HEY! My name is Tony Rangel, I’m from Azusa, California, about 25 to 90 minutes away from Biola depending on traffic.

My Family

My awesome family consists of two extremely supportive and loving parents, Mr. Tony and Sylvia Rangel, and two sisters named Yvette and Lysette. One of my favorite things in the world is hanging out with my family, whether were eating together, going to the beach, going on bike rides, going to an amusement park, or just chilling in the living room, it’s always a great time.

My Hobbies

There are so many things I love to do. Some of my favorite things are skateboarding, listening to music, buying vinyl records, playing with my bands, and photography. Sometimes it’s hard to find time for doing these things while trying to do my best in classes, however, it’s also really important to make time for the things that you love! Especially in college, in the middle of the busyness of classes, homework, and exams, it’s a good feeling to be able to express yourself with your passions.

When I’m feeling stressed about classes I love to write music. I play in a Surf Punk band named Chico, and a Hardcore Punk band named Rapture. For me, these are amazing outlets to have, especially because both bands I play are with some of my best friends. Skateboarding was my first love as a kid, sometimes I skate just because it reminds me of a simpler time and helps me to physically release. Buying vinyl records has been a recent obsession of mine. I get super excited when I walk out of a record store with an album that means a lot to me, collecting a bunch just makes it fun! Photography has been a passion of mine for a few years now, I specifically enjoy shooting on film! I have a film Instagram page @tonyrangel.photo.

Where I Grew Up

I grew up in a small city in one of the valleys of Los Angeles, Azusa. I have lived there all of my life, in the same apartment complex! I feel like it was a good place for me to grow up, it is where I made friends, came to know Jesus, learned how to skate, play music, and more!

My Major

I am a Marketing Management major here at Biola. It took me a while, coming in as undeclared, to find my major. I just could not seem to find where I fit in. Until, at the beginning of my junior, year I landed at becoming a Marketing Management major. I wanted something where I could use my creative nature doing something productive, while at the same time being someone who can be a light for Christ in the business world.
