Improve Student Affordability
If junior biology major Martha Lopez had not received the Dr. Francis Yu Mei Li Scholarship, she probably would not be at Biola. "Scholarships are my miracle," said Lopez, a first-generation student studying to be a doctor. According to Lopez, "Biola has molded me into a person who wants to be compassionate and show mercy to all those who are around me." Lopez plans to attend medical school and then commit herself to making a difference in a rural community. She is one of hundreds of students whose dreams and future impact have been made possible through the scholarship funds raised in The Campaign for Biola.

Provide Facilities That Inspire Learning
Thanks to The Campaign for Biola, construction began in February 2016 on the Alton and Lydia Lim Center for Science, Technology and Health. The 91,200-square-foot building is on schedule to receive its occupancy permit in October 2017 and open for classes in January 2018. When it opens, the building will be the largest academic facility on campus and will be home to the newly launched School of Science, Technology and Health. It will be home to the departments of nursing, biological science, human biology, environmental science, chemistry, physics, engineering physics, physical science, biochemistry, math and computer science.

Extend Biola's Global Reach
John and Marilyn Long created the Long Family Foundation to share their hearts and support research, education, religion and the arts. In 2015, the Long Family Foundation worked with Biola to establish the global online Certificate in Integrative Counseling (CIC). Early in 2017, Biola’s Rosemead School of Psychology launched the CIC in Asia. All 24 students in the first cohort live and work in China and are eager to learn culturally sensitive ways to integrate their faith with their counseling practices. “This program is a creative new way that Biola is offering our educational resources to the global community,” said program director Martha Chiu.
