Over 200 alumni celebrated their journey From the 60s to Our 60s at a 1960s Decade Reunion held on the Biola campus July 4-6. Alumni came from as far away as Australia to reconnect with their Biola roots during this special weekend.
Ron “Buster” Hafer was honored as Student of the Decade, and Dr. Richard McNeely was recognized as “Professor of the Decade” during a banquet on Saturday evening. Rich Buhler acted as emcee for the program, which featured music from alumnus Tom Keene and several 60s Biola ensembles.
Other highlights included a Western barbecue, a fashion show featuring clothing through the decades, a mini-concert by Christian recording artist Randy Stonehill, and a worship service that concluded the weekend’s activities.
In a spirit of giving back to Biola during the reunion, over $1,000 was given to update the Rose of Sharon prayer chapel, built by 1960s alumnus Robert Minshew in memory of his wife, Sharon. The money will be used for a specially designed welcome mat and a new podium Bible
