On Monday, October 27, 2008, Biola hosted its 30th annual golf tournament at Los Coyotes Country Club in Buena Park. With over 170 golfers participating, the tournament celebrated thirty years of raising funds for deserving Biola students. All donations from this annual event go to athletic scholarships and the Biola Fund.

The success of the tournament is largely credited to the generosity of more than fifty sponsors. Eclectic and Associates of Fullerton, California, was the tournament’s title sponsor for the fourth year. Janney & Janney and DSW sponsored the Golfer’s Gift Package received by each participant.

With a shotgun start at 10:30a.m., the players hit the course for a full day of golf and numerous on-course contests, including “Outdrive the Student Golfer”, featuring men and women from Biola’s golf team.

The day concluded with an awards banquet sponsored by Chick-Fil-A, emceed by Dave Little from Eclectic. The banquet featured a testimony from freshman Whitney Hobbs, a member of the women’s golf team. Congratulations to the Takahashi family, the winning foursome for the second consecutive year! What a great day of friends, fun and golf it was—all to raise scholarships for Biola students!
