Dozens gathered at Biola University on April 28 for a topic too taboo for many scientists: Intelligent Design.
Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, a film featuring Ben Stein, premiered in theaters on April 18, opening at #10 on the box office list.
On April 28, Biola University professors of the Master’s in Science and Religion program formed a panel discussion in Calvary Chapel to answer questions provoked by the film. Audience members, ranging from various age groups and belief systems dialogued with panelists to gain further insight on questions relating to Darwinism and Intelligent Design as well as the many questions brought up in the film, such as the connection between Darwinism and Nazism.
Panelists included:
Paul Nelson, an adjunct professor in the philosophy of biology at Biola, and one of the expert’s featured in the film Expelled; John Bloom, director of Biola’s Master’s of Science and Religion program and professor of physics; and Michael Keas, professor of the history of science.
