On Saturday, November 7, Biola hosted 54 Spanish-speaking pastors and teachers for a day-long seminar on “Effective Biblical Preaching,” taught by Talbot School of Theology professor Dr. Don Sunukjian, chair of the department of Christian Ministry and Leadership, and author of the award-winning book Invitation to Biblical Preaching (Kregel, 2007). The seminar, hosted by Talbot, brought Hispanic Christian leaders from the greater Los Angeles area and as far away as Lancaster, CA. The enthusiastic group also shared lunch and fellowship in the Cafe, and heard a brief promotional presentation for the 31st Annual Biola Hispanic Conference, upcoming on March 13, 2010, with the theme “Worship: more than just a song,” featuring keynote speaker Rev. Gabriel Gari Insunza, pastor of 2,000-member First Baptist Church of Satélite, México.
