Biola Track and Field athlete Natasha Miller will represent British Columbia in the 2009 Canada Games, competing in the high jump this week.

Miller, the defending NAIA Champion in the event, begins competition with the prelims on Tuesday, Aug.25, and the finals on Thursday, Aug. 27. The track and field events are taking place at the University of Prince Edward Island, located on the East Coast of Canada.

Miller's best mark in the event is 1.80 meters (5 feet, 10.86 inches), which is one of the best seeded marks in the event. She cleared 5-10.75 to win the NAIA outdoor title in June.

Miller, who will be a junior at Biola this upcoming track and field season, won three NAIA titles in 2008-09, winning the indoor heptathlon, outdoor pentathlon and high jump titles. She was also named the female Most Valuable Performer at both the indoor and outdoor championships.

The Canada Games is a high-level multi-sport event with a National Artists Program held every two years in Canada, alternating between the Canada Winter Games and the Canada Summer Games. Athletes are strictly amateur only, and represent their province or territory. Since their inception, the Canada Games have played a prominent role in developing some of Canada's premier athletes.
