Not even extreme weather could keep Dallas alumni from coming out to welcome alumni chaplain Ron Hafer to their city The torrential rain simply couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the nearly 40 guests who braved a severe electrical storm to gather at Picasso’s Pizza for conversation, laughter, and personal interaction with Ron.
There was plenty of time to reconnect with other Biolans over a delicious pizza dinner, followed by a few thoughts from Ron and the always-popular t-shirt giveaways.
Cliff Weaver, one of the alumni chapter leaders in the Dallas area, summed up the event by saying, “It was no surprise that Ron prescribed a large dose of humor in his sharing with us. Equally, it was no surprise that the depth of his character, his love for the Lord and his sensitivity and thankfulness for the blessings provided by our great Savior came through loud and clear. The example of the fruit of his and Hilda’s life challenged us all to live our lives expectant of God’s empowerment in all that we do. We were brought to remember the blessing we have to have spent wonderful days at Biola. We were all blessed by knowing and sharing with Ron and Hilda Hafer!”
