Biola alumnus ('86) Steve Bridges passed away unexpectedly at the age of 48 on Saturday, March 3, 2012. Bridges was known around the world for his impersonations of U.S. Presidents, particularly George W. Bush. He was a frequent guest on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" during the Bush administration.
Bridges performed at Biola’s Legacy Gala in 2007 impersonating George W. Bush and had remained friends with Biola throughout his growing career. Friend and fellow comedian, alumnus Adam Christing, remembered Bridges in blog post the week after his passing.
“Steve's final impression is not anybody else's voice,” he wrote. “It's his own. A voice of love and laughter in the world.”
The life of the infamous comedian and political impersonator will be celebrated Sat., March 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. in a memorial service at Biola. The service will be held in Sutherland Hall on campus.
