On Saturday February 25, 120 President’s Circle members gathered together to celebrate Biola’s 104th birthday at the event “Burgers and Basketball.” This was the last home basketball game of the year against The Master’s College. The President’s Circle, which is made up of a group of University friends, alumni, and past and current parents, came together and enjoyed one of the biggest highlights of University life: Athletics!
The Burgers and Basketball event offered an exclusive area set up at the beautiful new outdoor Fireplace Pavilion. Festive balloons lined the pavilion and bright red linens and candles covered tables to make our school colors shine. The sports theme was tied in brilliantly with the flower centerpieces set in half basketball vases; the perfect blend of elegance and spunk. Guests dined on a non-traditional tailgate BBQ, including; gourmet sliders of pulled pork, Angus beef, and pesto chicken followed by delicious cookies and festive President’s Circle cake pops. After dinner, guests enjoyed hearing from President Corey, Rick Bee the Director of Alumni, several faculty members, and Heather Cordell the Manager of the President’s Circle. As the music from the gym got louder, and the crowd grew larger, it was time for guests to make their way over to the men’s basketball game where they sat in a special saved section in the stands with a great view of the action happening on the court. The evening gave President’s Circle members a real taste of University life as members saw firsthand the enthusiasm of Biola students, faculty, and alumni coming together to cheer on the Mighty Eagles in a huge win against The Master’s College!
