LA MIRADA, Calif. --- For the second time in as many years Al Barbour Field on the campus of Biola University will be the host of the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals and finals.
These games take place at Biola on Thursday Nov. 10 and Saturday Nov. 12. The schedule for the tournament is flipped from what it was in 2015 as the two men’s semifinals are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and the women’s semifinals are slated for 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Biola Women’s Soccer is the No. 2 seed in the women’s tournament and will participate in its first tournament game at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. The undefeated Eagles drew a tough matchup as they host the tournament’s No. 3 seed, No. 10 Westmont (15-2-2, 7-2-1 GSAC).
The Eagles and Warriors met once this conference season with Biola coming away with a 1-0 win in overtime. These teams met in the GSAC Tournament Championship in the 2015 season with Westmont winning the title.
Biola SGA is sponsoring the FREE admission of the first 150 Biola students to attend the match. Aside from that there are no free admissions allowed (per GSAC policy).
Biola’s men’s program was eliminated from the tournament by a penalty kick shootout loss at Vanguard this past Saturday.
