LA MIRADA, CALIF. — On Wednesday, Nov. 30, Biola University students, faculty, and alumni will gather for an annual Christmas tree lighting celebration. The event will take place from 5:45 p.m – 8 p.m. and will include a Christmas fair with various festivities before the ceremony begins.

The Christmas Fair will include a complimentary ornament making station, cookie decorating and holiday music. Hot drinks will be sold for $1 each. The Christmas fair will also feature a hand bells performance by the Conservatory of Music.

The tree lighting ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. and will be free for all to attend with no registration required. During the ceremony, a Biola worship band will perform Christmas carols and will be supported by a performance from the Biola Dance Crew.

Biola alumni, faculty, and students are involved throughout the ceremony. Biola President Barry H. Corey will welcome the audience with a prayer to start the event, and Rick Bee, senior director of alumni and parent relations, will conclude the ceremony.

Those who can’t be at the ceremony in person can watch a livestream of the event through Biola’s website. Last year, 594 viewers watched the livestream of the tree lighting event from approximately 10 different countries.
