Biola University is a great college to work for, according to a survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education. The results, released today in The Chronicle’s tenth annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of 232 colleges and universities.

Biola was one of 79 institutions that achieved Great College to Work For recognition, meaning the university received top ratings in the administered survey from their employees on workforce practices and policies.

“Having led Biola University for 10 years now, I know from experience that this is a great place to work. The people make it great. Not only are the faculty, staff and students here talented and hard-working, but they are also filled with the Spirit and united in their devotion to Christ,” said Biola University President Barry H. Corey.

The Chronicle recognized the university as excelling in four of the 12 categories — Compensation & Benefits; Confidence in Senior Leadership; Facilities, Workspace & Security; and Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship. Biola was also ranked as a Great College to Work For in 2015, 2013 and 2012.

“Ten years in, the Great Colleges to Work For distinction is well-known by academic jobseekers as a sign that an institution’s employees are valued and given opportunities for growth even when they face financial constraints,” said Liz McMillen, editor of The Chronicle. “Any college or university that’s on the list is showing that they emphasize one of their most valuable assets: their faculty and staff.”

Great Colleges to Work For is one of the largest and most comprehensive workplace studies in higher education. For more information and to view all the results of the survey, visit The Chronicle’s website.
