On the evening of August 27 at 7 p.m. PT, Talbot School of Theology held its first virtual New Student Welcome. Dr Daniel Kim emceed the Zoom event, which was framed by worship led by Dr Dave Horner. Biola’s president, Dr Barry Corey, gave a warm and enthusiastic welcome to our students, some of whom joined the event from across the United States, Puerto Rico, India and China. A “Three Loves” message from Talbot’s dean, Dr Clint Arnold, affirmed for our students key features to anticipate from their Talbot learning experience. Talbot’s deans, department chairs, and program directors briefly introduced themselves before Associated Students President Patrick Lapp joined in welcoming our new students. The entire team of AS officers, who will serve our students this year, described their roles and how they looked forward to cultivating a strong community experience for all students, whether taking their courses residentially or online.
