My time at Biola gave me the theological foundation needed... and the ministry skills I need to be able to meet our customers and ministry partners where they are and care for them as whole people rather than just seeing my role as a purely business one.
How did your program at Biola prepare you for your career?
As a part of my job, I spend time recommending books to churches, organizations, and conferences that we work with. Our goal at 10ofThose is to provide great books that point to Jesus at accessible prices. My time at Biola gave me the theological foundation needed to be able to do this easily and confidently. It also gave me the ministry skills I need to be able to meet our customers and ministry partners where they are and care for them as whole people rather than just seeing my role as a purely business one.
What did you appreciate most about your time at Biola?
The community of learning, particularly that found in the faculty I got to interact with as a student and TA. To be cared about in a holistic way by those men and women changed my life and perspective on my faith. I am eternally grateful for the ways they poured into me and continue to do so!
How did Biola equip you to be a more faithful follower of Jesus Christ?
Biola helped me recognize my own sin and the true greatness and life changing power of Christ’s forgiveness and grace.
What advice would you give to students considering your degree program?
Go all in and take your time. Take advantage of office hours…you’ll never have as much access to so many incredibly wise and caring mentors as you will during your time at Biola. Avail yourself of it!
