Two alumni chapters have been inaugurated and one chapter has been resurrected over the spring months, giving alumni in three cities a chance to reconnect with one another and with Biola.
Several young alumni in the New York City area took the lead and put together a dinner event on Saturday, April 17. There was plenty of good conversation, as well as strategizing for future opportunities for alumni to get together and watch the chapter grow.
The following Saturday found a similar conversation going on in the Inland Empire of Southern California. While there has been a fairly robust alumni chapter in the past, a loss of leadership had sidelined the group for a number of years. With an interested alumna stepping forward, however, it seemed to be the right time to bring the chapter out of retirement.
Then on May 1 a brand-new alumni chapter in Salt Lake City held its first meeting, and again, young alumni put the ball in motion, resulting in the new group. As in the New York counterpart, the new chapter’s luncheon conversation focused in part on ongoing opportunities for Biola alumni in the area.
The Alumni Office is excited and pleased to welcome these three chapters to our slate of existing groups and anticipate growing the chapters in the coming years.
