Biola students collaborated their dance and musical talents in hopes of raising funds through a Haiti benefit concert entitled “Harmony for Hope” on March 30, 2010 in Crowell Hall. The program started with a video message from President Barry H. Corey who hoped the performances would compel people to contribute to the relief efforts.
Students nearly reached their target goal of raising five thousand dollars. Proceeds from the concert support the work of Haiti Hope Fund, an organization that Louima Lillite, a Biola alumnus and Haitian, partnered with to assist the people of Haiti. Jack Schwartz, interim vice provost, introduced the event explaining how the efforts of the benefit concert will help Haiti rebuild and grow.
Through performances, students shared stories about their time spent in Haiti and how the culture and people of Haiti left an impression in their life.
