Biola University’s ‘Red Book’ took center stage on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Annual Affirmation of the Biola Articles of Faith.
Biola’s 25 Board of Trustees reaffirmed their commitment to the school’s mission during the public ceremonial signing held in Calvary Chapel. In the past, the ‘Red Book’ has been signed annually in December by the Board of Trustees at a private meeting, but for the third year Biola has made the signing open to the Biola community. Over the last 81 years Biola’s leaders, such as Louis Talbot, Charles Fuller, Lula Stewart and founder T.C. Horton, have all added their signature to the book as a symbol of their affirmation of Biola’s values and their commitment to the University’s mission.
Staff, faculty and students were invited to attend this public ceremony in an effort to include the Biola community in this fundamental moment to uphold Biola in its deepest convictions.
The event served as a reminder to the community of Biola's core convictions that have remain unchanged since its founding in 1908.
