Biola donors assembled Saturday, February 12, 2011 for the Conservatory’s presentation of “Into the Woods”, the Tony Award-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. The show presents a mix of Grimm’s Fairy Tales (Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, among others) and the possible outcomes when the stories are intertwined “in the woods.“ Directed by Amick Byram (a two-time Grammy nominee, featured in the role of Moses in Prince of Egypt, as well as Beauty and the Beast soundtrack and others), the all-student cast soared with the intricate story lines, poignant humor and challenging vocals presented in the show.
Before and after the performance, donor groups were hosted at various receptions and luncheons, with opportunities to hear from President Corey, Mr. Byram, as well as student actors from the show. It was a full afternoon of fun, displaying the many sides of talented Biola students!
