What a fascinating day students, friends and alumni spent in April touring four different worship spaces in the Los Angeles area. From St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glendale, to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, to West Angeles Church of God in Christ in the Crenshaw District, and finally downtown at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, guests experienced a vast array of Christian worship styles and spaces.
Thanks to the insight of Biola art professor Jonathan Anderson, the group learned to think about how physical space and historical precedent influences and facilitates worship. As these photos demonstrate, one of the hallmarks of God’s Church is variety!
