LA MIRADA, CALIF. — To ease move-in stress for new Biola University students, the college is implementing a new style of welcoming incoming students and their families on move-in day. As students arrive at their dorms, Biola student leaders and staff will unload new students’ cars and deliver their belongings straight to their dorm room.

The unique experience will begin when first-year students enter Biola’s campus on Thursday, August 24 when they are greeted by their orientation staff and watch a special message from Provost and Senior Vice President, Matthew Hall. After receiving a “dash pass” to their assigned residence hall on campus, they will be directed to drive through campus to get there. A team of Biola volunteers, including over 400 Biola athletes in their team gear, will greet students at their dorm. They will unload and deliver the student’s belongings directly to their dorm room. This is a brand-new complimentary service designed to help ease any stress felt by students and families on such a momentous day.

Students and families are encouraged to enjoy other Welcome Week activities, including a university-wide welcome ceremony on Thursday evening, and orientation and departmental reception sessions on Friday, leading up to Biola’s tradition of a special communion service before family departures. Welcome Week activities can be seen on the webpage.
