What We Do
The Facilities Management Department is a collaborative effort of twelve service areas. Each manager and their respective teams are dedicated to the Mission, Vision and Values of Facilities Management and those of the University.
Facilities Management is responsible for campus planning, new construction and remodeling of existing spaces. The department is also responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds for safe and effective use by the campus community. This is accomplished through maintenance programs initiated by Facilities Management as well as through service provided for the community in response to Work Requests.
Mission, Vision and Values
Our Mission
The Mission of Facilities Management is to provide Christ-like service to the Biola Community and faithful stewardship of the university facilities.
Our Vision
The vision of Facilities Management is to provide a high quality environment for learning, living and working, through prompt, professional service, a systematic approach to maintenance and a wise use of available resources. We will be a department characterized by excellent communication, teamwork, careful planning and innovation.
Our Values
Attitude
We believe that a Christ-like attitude is at the core of excellent service and should be reflected in our work and relationships, for the glory of God.
Philippians 2:1-4 — If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Action
As God gives us the strength and resources we will strive to be proactive in our service, completing quality work in a timely and professional manner.
Galatians 6:10 — Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Allegiance
We believe that God is faithful and calls us to remain faithful to the tasks He has given us. Faithfulness to God, Biola and one another are of vital importance as we serve in community together.
1 Corinthians 4:2 — Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
