The Biola Conservatory of Music is pleased to announce its annual competition for composers who are currently in the last two years of their high school education. We are interested in scores reflecting a knowledge of the classical tradition. The grand prize will be a $5,000 scholarship (minimum) to attend Biola University as a composition major in the Conservatory of Music.
How to Apply:
- Composers may submit a maximum of 2 scores.
- Accompanying recordings are highly recommended, though not necessary; live recordings are preferred, but MIDI realizations are accepted.
- A cover letter should be included containing the composer’s full name, year of high school, and contact information (phone number, email and mailing addresses).
- Submissions may be sent electronically as PDFs and MP3s (please create a separate PDF or MP3 for each submission).
- Title the subject of your submission as follows:

DEADLINE: Applications must be postmarked/timestamped by February 1, 2024.
Winner(s) will be announced by the end of February.
