Join us for a seminar exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence, language, and ministry. We will delve into the rapidly evolving world of AI, including recent advances in Natural Language Processing, and look at some of the ways these tools are being used in ministry, including the benefits, challenges, and controversies emerging with these new technologies.
Key topics will include:
- AI's Growing Linguistic Competence: major advances in Natural Language Processing, including text embeddings, the transformer architecture, and the current state-of-the-art in machine translation.
- The Role of Language in Intelligence and Ministry: the important role that language plays in (human and artificial) intelligence and its role in sharing the Gospel, from Pentecost to the present day.
- AI Applications in Ministry: exploring how AI is currently being leveraged to support translation for Bibles and related materials, its use in anti-human trafficking efforts, ways people are trying to use AI in evangelism and discipleship, and ethical considerations surrounding the delegation of certain ministry related responsibilities to AI.
We will have time for discussion, questions, and for participants to share their thoughts on the convergence of AI, language, and ministry.
Join us to explore the opportunities and challenges of AI in language and ministry, and to consider how technology and faith can intersect in meaningful ways to support communities around the world.
