Speakers

Tim Pickavance

Dr. Timothy Pickavance is Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, where he teaches graduate-level philosophy courses as well as undergraduate courses in theology and worldview. Tim is also a ruling elder and Scholar in Residence at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, CA, where he and his family have been members since his work began at Biola almost 17 years ago. Tim's passion for both the academy and the church has prompted him to produce original scholarly work and to translate the best of Christian scholarship for everyday Christians. His current work focuses on the nature of human beings, especially on the integration of the emotion and intellect, and on the historical and cultural forces that disrupt our self-understanding. His most recent book is Knowledge for the Love of God: Why Your Heart Needs Your Mind (Eerdmans, 2022), and he publishes weekly on his Substack, Becoming Human.
