Speakers

Danielle Walker

Dr. Walker is an Associate Professor of Public Health and the Director of Lifetime Wellness on our campus.  If you’ve taken your one-unit health credit to graduate (Lifetime Wellness), then you’ve probably seen her in many of the lecture videos.

Her area of expertise and research is in global health and HIV.  She is also the CEO of a global health organization, Meeting TENTS.  She has worked in various public health settings such as the CDC and State Health Departments.  During semester breaks, she collaborates with international health departments and universities to help set up public health programs and improve access to care in many other countries such as Uganda, the Philippines, Mexico, and more.  She and her husband recently published a book, Lessons in Global Health Leadership: Learning to Lead with Humility and Honor, which highlights many of their adventures.

The reason Dr. Walker became a professor at Biola was because the Lord led her here with two very specific words.  She feels deeply passionate about bringing her students along in her travels to get global health field experience.  She also has a heart to help improve the health of students and staff on our campus.
