About Horton
Built in 2005, Horton Hall is the second-largest residence hall on campus. It replaced the original Horton Hall, built in 1958, and is named for T.C. Horton, a pastor, author, colleague of Lyman Stewart, and co-founder of Biola.
Horton is close to the center of campus, with especially easy access to the music, athletic and cafeteria facilities. Horton is home to continuing students (i.e. sophomores, juniors and seniors), is co-ed with male and female students living in separate sections of the building, while sharing the lobbies, kitchens and laundry facilities.
Horton Hall's doors are secured by an electronic access system, so only students can access the building during the day, and only residents may enter the building at night. Each individual room is key-locked for student security. Security cameras in outside and common areas are monitored 24 hours per day, and Campus Safety patrols campus regularly to ensure student security at all times.

Community Life
What Residents are Saying
[Because of North Horton] I have been changed forever. I can better relate to people. I know how to love better. I know how to manage my time better. I have grown immensely.
-Josh F.
North Horton has heightened my admiration and desire for really strong community and relationships in my life. Because of my hall I know what that looks like and I think it is safe to say that I have high expectations for what I think close community and relationship should look like.
-Daniel D.
I transferred in and was planning on living in the apartments or somewhere else off campus, but requested living in a couple dorms as well. I ended up getting placed in Horton and was super stoked that's how it all worked out. Being able to be a part of the Biola community in a dorm context is an opportunity you won't really have after college and I'm more than thankful to have been able to be a part of that experience.
-Noah S.
For my floor personally, Mock Rock makes second semester a highly anticipated time of the year. I seriously love it.

Slip n’ Slide - Just before school lets out for summer, the Horton community sets up a huge slip n’ slide for residences to cool off!
Mosaic Masquerade - Every spring, the men’s floor, Mosaic, throws an all-campus masquerade where residents elaborately decorate their rooms and provide fun food and games!

Hi! I was born and raised in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and come from a large family of 8 siblings. I first moved out to California when I came to Biola University for my undergraduate degree in Intercultural Studies and Spanish. After college, I spent three amazing years living in Quito, Ecuador as I worked in student life with a study abroad program. I returned to California in 2018, where I completed by Masters degree in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. In 2019, I started working at Biola in Housing & Residence Life, and have been the resident director of Horton Hall since January of 2020. I love working with college students as they navigate all the growth and discovery that this particular season of life holds; and it is such an honor to bear witness to difficult and beautiful moments in their journey. I live in Horton with my spouse, Austin and our two cats. In my free time, I love reading, going to the beach, and playing my new found obsession pickleball.
