About Hope
Built in 2003, Hope Hall is the largest residence hall on campus, and is treated as two communities: the north end is known as Hope North, and the south end as Hope South, each with its own resident director and staff of resident advisors. It was named in memory of the historic Biola building that was located at 6th and Hope St. in downtown Los Angeles. Hope is home to continuing students (i.e. sophomores, juniors and seniors), is co-ed, with male and female students living in separate sections of the building, while sharing the lobbies, kitchens and laundry facilities.
There is a centralized laundry room on the ground floor with 16 washers and 16 dryers and a large main-floor kitchen. There are eight oversized rooms, designed as 'triples,' and eight single rooms designed to accommodate students with disabilities. Behind Hope is an outdoor amphitheater that seats up to 400.
Hope Hall's doors are secured by an electronic access system, so only students can access the building during the day, and only residents may enter the building at night. Each individual room is key-locked for student security. Security cameras in outside and common areas are monitored 24 hours per day, and Campus Safety patrols campus regularly to ensure student security at all times.

Community Life
What Residents are Saying
Hope was my home. I learned the value of being a good neighbor there, as well as how to be a leader in my community. It is a place I will always cherish and remember as a place that had a lot of impact on who I am today
-Andy D.
The people really love each other. It's like a big family. And out of all the dorms, we have a really good lobby life.
-Kearci M.
Hope has been a place for me to call home for the last three years. A place to belong, a place to grow, and a place to love. Hope is a very special community that has quickly become my family
-Brianna B.
Hope has been my home for the past three years. Every year the Hope community changes slightly, but is always filled with people who desire to have a fun and loving community.
-Tyler G.
Hope has given me the opportunity to grow in my leadership and build deep relationships with people because of it's strong community.

Resident Director, Hope
Hello! I am from a small California mountain town called Running Springs. I graduated from Biola in 2015 with a B.A in Psychology, and went on to earn my M.S. in Organizational Psychology from Vanguard University in 2017. I spent a couple years working in HR for a K-12 school district in Colorado, where my love for employee development started to gain traction. I am passionate about working with teams, and helping others build on their strengths. I studied organization psychology because I wanted to be a part of creating working atmospheres where people thrived and were able to love the work they were doing. As an Assistant Director/Resident Director, I am using that background to help develop my teams and bring passion to the work we do. Outside of work I love spending time with my family, Drew (Biola ‘16), my toddler, Luka, and our cat, ChubChub.

I am a SoCal local, and grew up all around the Inland Empire and LA/OC counties. I finished my undergrad with a B.A. in Psychology from Cal State Long Beach. Before Res Life, I worked in young adult ministry at Arbor Road church in Long Beach, where I loved getting to pour into college students and help them understand themselves and God. I came to Biola in 2021 to study at the Institute of Spiritual Formation, where I am finishing up my M.A. in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. I also began working in Res Life here at Biola at the same time, and it has been such a great opportunity to step into the world of student development. In my spare time, I love specialty coffee and food science, and enjoy traveling and exploring with my wife and dog.
