Biola's State Authorization at a Glance

Federal and State regulations require that all institutions obtain the necessary authorizations and/or approvals from a state in order to conduct what are called “interstate activities.” Examples of interstate activities include, but are not limited to: online courses, field placements such as for-credit internships, practicums, clinical requirements, recruiting and advertising, and out-of-state employees. Holding such state authorization allows Biola University and other institutions to conduct these activities outside of our home states. Biola University is physically located in the state of California and welcomes online degree or certificate applications from prospective students who are residents in most states within the United States. However, applications from students physically residing in the following states while completing their online courses cannot be considered at this time: Alabama, Arkansas (refer to All State Listing for specific program exemptions), Delaware, District of Columbia, Kansas, Kentucky (refer to All State Listing for specific program exemptions), Maryland, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina (refer to All State Listing for specific program exemptions), Rhode Island and Wisconsin (refer to All State Listing for specific program exemptions). Click on the button below to search authorizations/approvals by state or by online degree program. Please contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office (admissions@biola.edu) or the Graduate Admissions Office (graduate.admissions@biola.edu) if you have any questions.
