Biological Science, B.S. '11
Before Biola I thought faith and science just ran alongside each other but now I know that the two go hand in hand.
How did your program at Biola prepare you for your career?
My program at Biola prepared me for my career by giving me a firm foundation and understanding in the sciences and also taught me how to intertwine my faith with science. Before Biola I thought faith and science just ran alongside each other but now I know that the two go hand in hand. I believe I am closer to God because of it and I can still teach science.
What did you appreciate most about your time at Biola?
I appreciate the community I got to be a part of on my soccer team, in the science department and in my dorm. I also am very grateful for the atmosphere at Biola. It is a place where you can try new things in your faith no matter how uncomfortable and take risks which do strengthen your faith.
How did Biola equip you to be a more faithful follower of Jesus Christ?
Just by giving us students many opportunities to strengthen our faith: Torrey Memorial Bible Conference, Bible classes, mentorship programs, mission trips and many more.
What advice would you give to students considering your degree program?
Studying the sciences is very time consuming but totally worth it. There will be times where you will have to sacrifice fun for school but that is all a part of growing up. It is not an easy program but just remember you are not the first to go through it. Others have, and if they can do it, so can you!
