Minor in Education Pre-Teaching Certification Minor

Overview

Students must complete 18-20 credits to receive an Education Pre-Teaching Certification minor. A minimum of 9 credits must also be unique to the minor (not counted toward any other requirements, including minoring in the same department as the major).

The Education Pre-Teaching Certification minor meets the requirements for the California Preliminary Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential with 12 credits of intensive field practice completed in one semester. This minor is open only to students who have been accepted to the in-person Teacher Preparation program and are working towards meeting other California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) requirements. In order to apply the Teacher Preparation Coursework and Clinical Practice Coursework classes towards any California credential, students must earn at least a B- in each of these classes.
