Infinity and Two Natures Christ
The implications of infinity are counterintuitive. So is the doctrine of Christ as both fully God and fully man. But does that mean they are false or contradictory? In this video, Dr. Wilson explains an aspect of mathematical infinity and shows how it provides insight into the doctrine of Christ, with personal application.
Infinity and the Trinity
The doctrine of the Trinity as one God in three persons has been rejected by some as “incoherent” or “contradictory”. So was the concept of mathematical infinity in the late 1800’s, though widely accepted today. In this presentation, Dr. Wilson gives a common definition of infinity, explains some of its mind-blowing but mathematically proven results, and shows how they offer a powerful analogy for the doctrine of the Trinity.
Infinity and Incarnation
The Christmas story is about the Incarnation of the unlimited God into a limited human body. A mind-bender for first year calculus students is the “magic” that happens when crossing the boundary between the rational numbers to the real numbers. In this video, Dr. Wilson explains the rationals-to-reals “magic” and how that provides insight into the Incarnation of Jesus Christ.
Secularization of Mathematics
In your math classes, did you ever consider the question, “Where does math come from?” In this presentation, Dr. Wilson will explain why this question is off the table, why mathematics education is in the form that it is, and why it is culturally acceptable to not understand math or do poorly in it, unlike any other required subject. He then proposes a better way, along with some steps you can take to help out.
