What is a FAFSA and Why Does it Matter?

Simply put, when you submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) you’re applying to receive federal student aid — including loans, work-study opportunities and grants (California residents are also encouraged to apply for the Cal Grant). Our Office of Financial Aid also uses this information to create a financial aid package to help you pay for college. Nearly all students who apply qualify to receive some form of aid. The FAFSA is not available for international students.

How do I get started?

  1. Starting in December, apply at fafsa.gov and include Biola University’s federal code (001122) to ensure we receive your application.
  2. Visit Biola’s Office of Financial Aid’s Frequently Asked Questions website for more information about how to submit the FAFSA, eligibility and what information you’ll need to provide when applying.
