Article at a Glance

  • Employees will now complete their cybersecurity awareness training in the KnowBe4 platform.
  • IT will assign one short training video each month.
  • Each month's training will be announced in the Campus-Wide News and in email notifications.

Your annual cybersecurity awareness training is being upgraded this year!

You’ll notice two main changes:

  • A new training platform
  • Adjustments in video length and frequency

A New Cybersecurity Training Platform

Starting this year, you’ll complete your cybersecurity training in the KnowBe4 platform.

KnowBe4 offers a wide range of training topics and styles, ensuring fresh content with each video assignment. This is crucial as cyber threats grow in number and attackers adopt new tactics.

When you log in to the KnowBe4 platform, you’ll use your Biola SSO credentials (email and password).

Video Length and Frequency

In previous years, cybersecurity training was assigned once per year (April to May) and required about 60 minutes to complete.

Beginning in June of this year, we will deploy a short training video once per month, typically lasting a few minutes. This approach will help to keep cybersecurity related topics relevant and practical to your everyday life. The shorter videos will also mean that you don’t need to set aside a long period of time to complete the training. You can easily finish each month’s assignment during any free window of your day.

Please help us reach our goal of 100% assignment completion this year!

Training Deployment

Each month, we’ll announce the training video in the campus-wide news. KnowBe4 will also send you an email notification.

The emails will look like this:

We think you’ll appreciate this new training platform. Thank you for your continued efforts to protect Biola’s people, resources, and reputation by thwarting cyberattacks.
