Biola in Spain sends students to the Universidad Pablo de Olavida, known for their state-of-the-art campus typical to that of a Northern American university. With many courses widely available in both Spanish and English, students will get to study the many facets of Spanish culture among fellow international students.

      Program Overview

Biola in Spain aims to create an environment where students are fully immersed in Spanish art, architecture, history and culture. While in Spain, students will explore God's creation and the local culture through delicious traditional food, flamenco dancing techniques, colorful architecture and soccer games! Students will find themselves in a community with other international students navigating how to serve the Lord in a new culture and embrace the joy and beauty of Seville.

While in Spain, students will be able to engage in ministry opportunities such as English language ministry, serving women who have experienced human trafficking, working at a local church or mission, ministering to the elderly population in Seville, and working on homework with children who have been hospitalized. These opportunities for ministry give students the opportunity to live out their Christian mission in a cross-cultural environment and minister to those in Seville. Participating students are required to register for the 1 credit Ministry Practicum course through this Veritas Program. The Ministry Practicum course will transfer back to Biola as 1 general elective credit.

Through exploring Andalusia’s gothic architecture, vibrant neighborhoods, beautiful weather and eating tapas, students will create lifelong friendships with those they travel with and meet. Additionally, Seville's unique mix of Christian, Jewish and Moorish traditions allows students to both learn about other cultures while also radiating the love of Christ to those they meet.

Alongside students' rigorous academics, they are also invited to partake in multi-day excursions to locations such as Morocco, Portugal, Madrid and more. Students who apply to attend Biola in Spain complete a Biola application for review by Study Abroad. In addition to the Biola Study Abroad application, students must also complete an application with the program provider, Veritas. Students must be accepted by both Biola Study Abroad and the program provider in order to participate in the program.
