Biola University Test-Optional Process
At Biola University, we want you to tell us your story!
You may want to apply test-optional:
- If you believe your SAT/ACT scores do not accurately reflect your previous academic performance and future academic potential.
- Or if you are confident that your high school grades provide a clear indication of your strong academic achievements.
You may want to submit your SAT/ACT scores:
- If they will help us see your broader academic preparedness or potential.
- If they will reduce the need for placement exams later in the enrollment stage.
Applicants who decide to apply test-optional will not be penalized or put at a disadvantage.
The test-optional status cannot be changed once a student’s application is under review.
International students are still required to submit one test score for proof of English proficiency (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic, or IB English). Please see the international admissions requirements.
The Admissions Office will continue to review all applications comprehensively and holistically, ensuring that admission offers and award academic scholarships are based on the student's academic achievement, spiritual commitment, and ability to succeed at Biola University.
